Our Summer Camp Philosophy

We are on a mission to fill childhood summers with joy, curiosity, adventure, and community.

Camp Carmel Creek is a specialty summer camp in Carmel Valley, San Diego, with a classic camp feel. Our campers can expect to have all the experiences they love in a summer day camp, while getting to choose the activities they are most passionate about doing each day.

We also know summer camp isn’t just for kids. Parents are always in-mind as we create our summer camp experiences. We provide flexible scheduling, a state-of-the-art safe facility and top-tier staff and camp leadership. San Diego parents have many camp choices and put hours of thought into planning summer activities. We want to make that choice a little easier - you won’t even need to pack a lunch!

A little about us

Camp Carmel Creek summer camp is a community offering created by San Diego Jewish Academy. We recognized an opportunity to bring a unique kind of summer camp experience to San Diego families in North County and beyond, and we have been providing exceptional summer camp experiences since 2023.

Travis Pelletier and Anna Pelletier - Camp Directors

Camp Carmel Creek is led by Travis Pelletier and Anna Pelletier, experienced educators and camp leaders who bring more than 30 years of combined camp experience and a deep passion for creating meaningful, joyful experiences for children. As beloved members of the San Diego Jewish Academy community, Travis and Anna work with students every day and bring strong relationships, an understanding of the whole-child experience, and an exciting vision for camp.

As Directors, Travis and Anna are committed to creating a camp environment where every child feels known, supported, and excited to come each day. Camp Carmel Creek is powered by an exceptional team of teachers, educators, and camp professionals, alongside an energetic and engaging staff of young adults. From the moment campers arrive until the end of each camp day, our team is dedicated to ensuring every child experiences friendship, adventure, creativity, and unforgettable summer memories.
