OUR CAMP PHILOSOPHY
We are on a mission to fill childhood summers with joy, curiosity, adventure and community.
Camp Carmel Creek is a unique specialty camp with a classic camp feel, which is to say that our campers can expect to have all the experiences they love in a day camp, while getting to choose the activities they are most passionate about doing each day.
We also know summer camp isn’t just for kids. Parents are always in-mind as we create our summer camp experiences. We provide flexible scheduling, a state-of-the-art safe facility and top-tier staff and camp leadership. San Diego parents have many camp choices and put hours of thought into planning summer activities. We want to make that choice a little easier - you won’t even need to pack a lunch!

Camp Carmel Creek summer camp is a community offering created by San Diego Jewish Academy. We recognized an opportunity to bring a unique kind of summer camp experience to San Diego families and we are excited to be launching our inaugural year at Camp Carmel Creek for summer 2023.
MEET OUR CAMP DIRECTOR, ADAM!
Camp Carmel Creek is led by Adam Benmoise who comes to us with over 20 years of summer camp experience beginning as a counselor and lead staff in the overnight camp world and eventually transitioning to executive leadership in the day camp world. Adam spent the past 10 years building day camps for the JCC communities of NYC and Westchester, NY, and brings a track record of successful, intentional and joyful camp programming.
As a Director, Adam prides himself on attracting, retaining and developing the best talent in the field and at Camp Carmel Creek it will be no different, we have the highest level of trained staff. A strong core leadership team made up of teachers, educators, and camp professionals, alongside an energetic, engaging, and committed team of young adults, every staff member will care for our campers from the moment they join us in the morning till the moment they’re picked up at the end of the day.
